Activity - Visiting wild places
Locate a natural or wild habitat near you. It could be a wetland, forest, grasslands, the coast, or somewhere else.
Visit the wild place or natural habitat. Observe, look, listen. Can you detect any signs of wild animals living in this habitat? Birds? Reptiles? Mammals? Insects? Spiders? Fish?
Make note of the habitat’s features – write notes or draw a picture or take photos.
Is there anything being done to help the species living in this habitat? What actions could you take to help species that live here?
Could you visit this habitat again in the future and see how it changes? Is it improving? Take photos, drawings or notes every time you visit, including the species you see, to note the changes.
Use the downloadable activity sheet to record your answers.
