What is Auckland Zoo’s Conservation Learning Online?
Auckland Zoo’s Conservation Learning Online provides engaging and accessible conservation education through a range of interactive modules and engaging online activities, across a variety of topics. There are modules supporting school visits to Auckland Zoo from Adaptations to Zoo Care, special interest modules and areas for adult learning such as backyard conservation.
Login support
You can access many of modules as a guest without logging in. If you want to track your progress on a paid module you will need to register on the site (registration is free), log in, and then enroll on the module.
No, if you have logged in and are enrolled, you can continue where you left off the next time you log in. If you are just visiting as a guest (without logging in), it will not save your progress.
Try restarting your device and making sure your browser is up to date. If you find an issue within the site, please report this by email, with a clear screenshot of the issue, to conservationlearning@aucklandzoo.co.nz
Please click on the log in button at the top of the page. Click on forgot username or password and follow the prompts to reset. If you are already logged in to the site, you can change your password under the user menu: select your name to open the user menu, then select ‘Change password’.
If you would like to change your email attached to your profile, please email conservationlearning@aucklandzoo.co.nz. In the email, please include your name and the email that was associated to your profile along with the new email you would like it changed to.
Module support
There will always be free content. Go to the ‘All modules’ page and select ‘Free’ under the ‘Price’ category to see all the free modules.
Paid modules you are currently enrolled on are listed on the ‘My modules’ page. The ‘My modules’ page is found in the Quick links section on the left side of the page or by opening your profile menu (click on your name to open this). You will only see the ‘My modules’ page if you are registered and logged in.
No, if you have logged in, your progress will be saved. However, you may need to manually mark some content as complete for it to be saved.
Yes, you can visit them as many times as you like. If it is a paid module, you will need to check the expiry date of your enrolment to check when your access will end.
Payments
You will be able to pay for certain modules which include more features than free modules, such as live Question and Answer sessions with Zoo staff. These modules will usually also allow learners to earn a certificate demonstrating module completion.
Paying for modules is easy. Just use a credit/debit card to pay online following any on screen instructions.
Payment must be received before you can access the paid module content.
Refunds are made on a case-by-case basis and are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, time since payment, amount of content accessed, and number of times logged in to the site. Please contact conservationlearning@aucklandzoo.co.nz to discuss refunds.
Sharing and feedback
Yes! Please share the modules with the teachers in your school or anyone you think would be interested. Please remember, some of the modules are designed to match specific Zoo education sessions and may not be as relevant for some teachers.
Yes! Over time we will be adding new modules aimed at both adult learners and schools, so keep checking back. Email conservationlearning@aucklandzoo.co.nz to ask us about our roadmap for future modules.

Certificates
You can view and download your certificate on completion of your module, from within the module. To access a certificate after your module enrolment has expired, email conservationlearning@aucklandzoo.co.nz and providing details of your username and module certificate. This may take up to 3 business days.
