      Here you will find the most recent Wild Wednesday episodes created by the Conservation Learning Team here at Auckland Zoo. If you're not sure what Wild Wednesday is, then read on, otherwise dive into the episodes below.

      What is Wild Wednesday?

      Wild Wednesday is a free, live, online presentation featuring animals, habitats and people from around Auckland Zoo, delivered regularly across the year.

      Themes have included animal feet, teeth, eyes, habitats, "whose name in te reo Māori?", and people's favourite animals at Auckland Zoo.

      Anyone can register to watch these free webinars and you can send in your own questions to be answered by the Wild Wednesday team.

    • Next live webinar: Te Wao Nui track at Auckland Zoo

      Who’s who along the Te Wao Nui track?  

      Aotearoa is full of incredible species found nowhere else in the world. Join Nic at Auckland Zoo to learn about the endemic species you can find along our Te Wao Nui Track and a few other native species special guests. So, jump, flap, crawl, and swim into Wild Wednesday and meet some special animals close to home.

    • Who’s who at Hamilton Zoo?! This special edition of Wild Wednesday features animals from our zoo neighbours in Hamilton Zoo and looks at some of the similarities and differences with the animals you can find at Auckland Zoo. 

      Join us to learn about chimpanzees, bison, caracal cats and capuchin monkeys, as well as some familiar faces from Auckland Zoo.  

    • Stomp, chomp, and roar along the Dinosaur Discovery Track with our Conservation Learning Facilitator Nic as we investigate some prehistoric pals and connect with some of the animals we care for at Auckland Zoo.

    • Come and explore the animals of the Southeast Asia Jungle Track at Auckland Zoo with Nic and his friends.  

    • The end of 2024 saw the Australia Bush Track at Auckland Zoo undergo some exciting changes! Join Tory and her friends as we walk through the track, explore the new habitats and meet some of the animals. 

    • We look at all of your favourite animals and learn a little bit about why these animals have captured your imagination!

    • Did you see that? Try not to blink or you might miss it as we zoom in and take a close look at different animals eyes.

    • Kākā, rinorino, tīeke, and tuahuru. Let’s learn the meaning behind the different te reo Māori names of some of the animals at the Zoo.

    • Find out about different habitats, the animals that call them home, and what we can do to help protect them.

    • Feet come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes at the Zoo and are used for all types of different movement!
